The Department “Medical Anthropology” was established as a temporary structural unit at the Institute of Ethnology and Folklore Studies with Ethnographic Museum – Bulgarian Academy of Sciences in 2021. It is part of the project “European Leviathan: The Legacy of Post-War Medicine and the Common Good” [H2020 ERC -2019-SyG; GA ID: 854503 (Leviathan), financed by ERC Synergy Grant, Horizon 2020] with Principal Investigator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Anelia Kassabova.
